10 august 2018, argentina department of production and trade issues a regulation 465/2018 on “technical regulations applicable to label requirements for all types of footwear”. this regulation shall enter into force on the 180th day following that of its publication in the argentina gazette.
according to this regulation, the footwear labeling should include the following informations:
-manufacture country.
- country/import manufacturer name/company name, and unique tax identification code(cuit).
- the name or company name of the national manufacturer or importer may be replaced by a trademark registered with the competent authority in that country.
- the brand and model of the product.
- components of footwear: upper, lining and sole
- size label of footwear (measured with the european system).
products made of leather fibers must be marked as “leather agglomerate” (“aglomerado de cuero”); products made of textile must be marked as “textil”; products made of synthetic fibers must be marked as “synthetic” (“sintético”); products made of vulcanized, synthetic or natural rubber must be marked as “rubber” (“caucho”). in addition, the label information must be in the native language, clear, obvious and non-erasable; character height must not be less than 1 mm.
c&k testing reminds enterprises to pay close attention to the revising of footwear regulations, and perform corresponding obligations to ensure product compliance in order to prevent the subsequent risks effectively.
